Winter Dance Eventers is more than just me and my horse. Its a family. And frankly this blog is mine and mostly personal and I consider all of my (4-legged) kids siblings. So to add a little color to this feed I figured I would introduce any readers to my other babies.
First up is Carline. Full name, Princess conDoin of Cyrdee. Named after a character from Raymond Feist’s Riftwar Saga novels. She was my first baby. I got her when I was 16, September of my junior year of high school. I was on a camping trip in August when one of my friends mentioned her cat had just had kittens and I wanted one. When I got home I asked my parents and they said yes. I had my heart set on a boy, but the cat I was sent home with was a girl. After the realization was made, we decided just to stick with the kitten I was given as we had already bonded.
This sassy, precocious, opinionated gal has been my constant companion for 12 years. She moved out with me into our first apartment. She puts up with my struggle snuggles when I am sad and overall is a lovely matriach of our home. Reminding us vocally when its dinner time. She has adapted very well to any and all siblings we have brought hometo her, even when she was initally displeased.
Anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting her knows that she is the first on to go for a new lap and always happy to accept pets.
