Whelp… here we are. Day before our first show. I am…..terrified? nervous? excited? maybe prepared?
Honestly I have no idea what I am feeling. I am just trying to make sure I tick off everything on my check list. It will be an in and out show. No overnight, no stabling. Just go, ride, go home. And yet there is so much to worry over. All of my supplies and tack. Make sure I don’t embarrass my trainer. Make sure my clothes are clean. Make sure my tack is in good working order. Pack backups.
But we are here. Bacardi will get a bath tonight. Be turned in early, a sheet put on him and I will finish packing stuff at the barn. I will go home, clean my tack, clean my boots and chaps and lay out my breeches and shirt for tomorrow. And then hopefully be to bed at a decent hour.
