On Monday, Bacardi and I had an AMAZING ride! We decided to hack out a little and see if we could gain some confidence in each other. We rode all the way out from out barn to the back side of our property where we board. For the first time, we rode out alone and not only rode out that far but also trotted and CANTERED while we were by ourselves.
It was such a confidence building ride. When we came back to the farm we bounced around the jump field before heading back to the barn.
Unfortunately, once I finished untacking Bacardi, the smoke from Eastern Washington started rolling in and we have not ridden since then.
I would love to have built on the ride, but the safety and health of me and my horse comes first.
I hope that everyone is staying indoors and protecting themselves with these awful conditions.
