No but really we do. And tonight is a night I am doing that. Ruffi was not super willing tonight and instead of being cowed by her antics I decided to persevere through them.
At one point I did hop off and put her on the lunge line and then after she seemed responsive, I got back on and rode her though her difficulties. Yes, with a bit of assistance from a ground crew, but I stayed in that saddle, kept my hands forward and my leg on and did not get off until I felt ready to and not because I was afraid.
I am so ridiculously proud of how far my big mare has come.
