Hey all,
This is mostly going to be just kind of a training diary for Bacardi’s rehab for a bit, but I want to keep everyone who wants to know updated. So, Rehab week TWO for Bacardi:
Tuesday – mostly a walk ride, worked on haunches in, slowing the walk and keeping my reins short .
Wednesday – Walk/trot – mostly circles, worked on coming on the the bit, halts and then we had a solo hack to the pump house
Friday – Walk/trot – focus on working on the bit and self carriage
Saturday – Walk/trot – worked on suppling, haunches in, soft downward transitions and another hack to the pump house with best Trooper and his mom!
All of our rides this week were in the outdoor, which gives us a little more room to work, as our indoor is only 10 meters wide.
Also a little update on the Emerald Racing Club 2023. We officially signed up last week with me as the owner on record. Horses should be at Emerald Downs some time this week. Right now we have 2 horses for the club. First is a 3 y/o bay filly named Scatalicious (Majestic Harbor x Miss Scatalicious[Scat Daddy]) and a 5 y/o mare Warren’s Memorable (Misremembered x Warren’s Amber[Broadway Moon]).
Scatalicious was claimed from Turf Paradise for $15,000 and Warren’s Memorable was also claimed from TP for $4500. We are excited to see what these girls are going to bring this season at EMD. Stay tuned for more updates when we meet them and pictures!!
